Lottery Winner Finds Out $10,000 Prize Was Actually $100,000!

A Minnesota man who was trying to cash a $10,000 lottery win found his efforts frustrated by a simple mistake – he had actually won $ 100,000.

Steven Larson, Red Wing, said he visited lottery office Owatonna Minnesota September 29 to collect $ 10,000 he thought that he won from a Diamond crossword scratchcard lottery ticket he bought a few months earlier from the local Main Street Freedom Valu Center.

Larson said he left the office empty-handed, but only because it turned out that the ticket was worth $ 100,000 and over $ 30,000 worth of prizes must be claimed at the lottery office in Roseville.

The winner said the extra ride was “well worth the drive.”

Larson said the first thing he plans to buy with his cash prize is “a big steak to grill.”
