Bassendean woman claims A$6.39 million Saturday Lotto prize

Last updated

A woman from Bassendean, Western Australia, has claimed the entire A$6.39 million Saturday Lotto division one prize from the September 19, 2026 draw, Lotterywest announced on September 22.

The retiree, who is in her late 70s, bought the ticket at Galleria Lottery Centre. She was the only division one winner nationally, so the top prize pool was not shared between multiple winning entries.

She checked the ticket on Sunday

According to Lotterywest, the woman compared her numbers with the results in The Sunday Times, then went back to the retailer to have the ticket checked. Her sister and niece accompanied her to Lotterywest headquarters when it opened on Monday morning.

Lotterywest did not publish her name. It said this was the second time in 2026 that a single Western Australian ticket had secured the whole Saturday Lotto division one pool.

Six winning numbers secured the prize

The September 19 results published by Lotto.net list the main numbers as 1, 10, 27, 32, 33 and 39, with supplementary numbers 13 and 26. The exact division one prize was A$6,394,286.39, awarded to one winning entry.

Saturday Lotto draws six main numbers and two supplementary numbers from a field of 45. Matching all six main numbers wins division one. Supplementary numbers are used in some lower prize divisions.

Lotterywest gives the division one odds as 1 in 8,145,060 for one standard game. The odds of winning any prize are approximately 1 in 42, a separate measure that includes the smaller awards.

A home is the first planned purchase

The winner told Lotterywest that she would like to buy the home she has been renting. She also plans to buy cars for her sister and niece, visit friends in Derby and donate to Vinnies, which helped her in the past.

Lotterywest requires division one claims to be made at its headquarters and applies a 14 day validation period. Its announcement confirms that she came forward to claim; it does not give a date on which the funds reached her bank account.
