One UK Lotto ticket wins £5.8 million as three others take £1 million

Saturday’s UK Lotto drawing produced one jackpot winning ticket worth approximately £5.8 million and three further tickets worth £1 million each, according to reporting carrying Allwyn’s announcement.

The September 26 result therefore created four seven figure winning tickets across the two top prize levels. The jackpot went to a single ticket rather than being shared among several jackpot winners.

The two sets of reported numbers

The published result lists Round 1 as 22, 27, 38, 42, 47 and 59, with Bonus Ball 31.

Round 2 is listed as 11, 15, 17, 31, 38 and 46, with Bonus Ball 43.

Those are separate combinations. They should not be joined into one list of winning numbers, and the bonus numbers should remain attached to their respective rounds.

The jackpot and the £1 million prizes are different tiers

Allwyn’s senior winners’ adviser, Andy Carter, confirmed one ticket had secured the entire jackpot and three tickets had matched five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball for £1 million apiece.

The main jackpot requires all six main numbers. The Bonus Ball is relevant to the five plus bonus prize tier; it is not an additional seventh number that a jackpot winner must match.

The available announcement did not name the winners or establish that they had collected their prizes. Nor did it provide enough detail to allocate all three £1 million prizes between the two reported rounds, so that breakdown should not be inferred from the total.

For anyone reviewing a ticket, the useful starting point is the date and the correct round’s combination. The headline count describes four winning tickets, not necessarily four individual people: a ticket may be held by one person or a group, and no ownership details were disclosed in the announcement.
