A lucky ticket-holder from the United Kingdom has stepped forward to claim an eye-watering jackpot in the EuroMillions draw worth £54 million. The lucky winner was able to match all the seven numbers that were drawn in the EuroMillions draw conducted on June 10th, Friday in order to scoop the massive prize.
Third Big Win
If this player’s claim is verified, then this would make it the third lottery player to go home with a massive amount of money in the EuroMillions lottery this year. Camelot made the announcement that someone had finally made a claim on the jackpot worth £54,957,242.50.
The numbers that were drawn on the night were 17, 26, 36, 37 and 40 and 9 and 12 were the Lucky Star numbers. If the ticket is verified, it would be up to the winner to decide if they want to go public with the win, or wish to keep their identity hidden.
According to Camelot, they would not be able to provide any information about the winner, including where they bought the ticket, and whether it is a syndicate or an individual unless they decide to go public.
This lottery win comes on the heels of the largest ever prize being won in a EuroMillions draw worth £184 million, which was claimed by Jess and Joe Thwaite in the United Kingdom. Another ticket holder had won a whopping prize of £109 million in a EuroMillions draw in February, but they had chosen to stay anonymous and not disclose their identity to the public.
The National Lottery’s Senior Winners’ Adviser, Andy Carter said that the year has been a great one for players of the National Lottery so far and that they were very pleased to have the player come forward and claim the £54 million prize. He stated that they would now assist the ticket holder in going through the claim process, so they can enjoy this life-changing win.
He added that the draw on Tuesday, June 21st, of the EuroMillions lottery, could also see another big winner, as the jackpot is set at £122 million.
