One Lucky Winner from Cork Wins Tidy Sum while €2.3m Irish Lotto Jackpot Goes to Dublin Player

The Irish Lotto draw on Wednesday night turned out to be a very exciting one, as it resulted in a number of people taking home some big prizes. The jackpot for the draw was around €2.3 million.

Hailing from South Co. Dublin, a lucky punter became the newest millionaire in Ireland when they landed the life-changing jackpot worth €2,310,972.

After scooping up the grand prize in Wednesday night’s Irish Lotto draw, the player has now become the 31st National Lottery millionaire this year.

The National Lottery has urged all players in Dublin who participated in Wednesday night’s draw to check their tickets to see if they are the ninth winner of the jackpot this year.

The winning numbers that were drawn on 12th October, Wednesday were 01, 11, 14, 19, 27 and 39, with 44 being the bonus number.

The latest jackpot winner has not yet made contact with the National Lottery to claim their prize and was instructed to sign the back of their ticket to keep it safe.

The National Lottery also said that they would disclose the details of the store location that sold the winning ticket for the €2.3 million jackpot on Friday in order to narrow down the search for the winner.

There were a total of 61,000 players who were able to land prizes in the Lotto as well as Lotto Plus draws conducted on Wednesday night.

One of these lucky players was from Cork, who was able to hit the Match 5 and the Bonus number, which allowed them to land a prize of €36,177.

The lucky punter had purchased their ticket on the day of the draw in Co. Cork from the Centra Foodstore located in Ballineen. It was a quick pick ticket.

A spokesperson for the National Lottery said that October was shaping out to be a great month so far, as there had been two impressive Irish Lotto jackpot winners in the last two weeks.

They said that there was a player in Dublin who had just become the newest millionaire in Ireland because they have a lottery ticket worth €2.3 million.

Likewise, there was also a player from Cork who had won a very impressive prize as well. They appealed to all Irish Lotto players in Ireland and Dublin to check their tickets carefully and then get in touch with the prize claims team.

The National Lottery uses 30 cents of every €1 spent on games for various Good Causes related to arts, education, sports, heritage, health, youth, the Irish language and welfare.

Since it was established 35 years ago, the National Lottery has managed to raise about €6 billion for Good Causes.

Last year alone, the National Lottery managed to raise €304 million for Good Causes.
