The Mega Millions Lottery draw was held on Friday, November 18th, 2022 and it had a jackpot of $238 million that would have had a cash value of $128.8 million.
No jackpot wins
The winning numbers that were picked in the Mega Millions lottery draw on Tuesday night were 02, 14, 16, 38 and 66, with 09 being the gold Mega Ball, while 4X was the Megaplier.
Unfortunately, none of the players were able to match the numbers required to win the jackpot, which means that it will now be added to the grand prize of the next draw.
The next Mega Millions lottery drawing is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2022 and it will not have a jackpot of a whopping $259 million.
Other winners
While none of the players were able to win the grand prize in Tuesday night’s drawing of the Mega Millions lottery, there were still players who managed to bag some impressive prizes.
There was one player from Georgia, who was able to hit the Match 5, which means that he won a prize of $1 million.
Two other players, one from Florida and one from Colorado, were also able to hit the Match 5. However, they had also bought the Megaplier, which means they were able to increase their winnings to $4 million each.
Other than these instant millionaires, there were also nineteen players who were able to hit the Match 4 and also the gold Mega Ball.
This allowed these people to win a prize of $10,000 each. But, there were also five people who were able to hit the Match 4, the gold Mega Ball and also bought the Megaplier for Tuesday night’s Mega Millions draw.
This meant that rather than winning $10,000 each, they were able to win a prize of $40,000 each. The other prizes that were won in Tuesday night’s drawing were between $2 and $2,000.
The winnings
The Mega Millions lottery players have the option of claiming their jackpot wins either as a lump sum payment, or they can go for an annuity.
The latter option means that they will be receive one immediate payment and the remaining sum in 29 annual payments that increase by 5% every year.
The Mega Millions lottery is conducted two times in a week, every Tuesday and Friday and people from 45 states, the District of Columbia and the US Virgin Islands are eligible for participating.
