The Powerball lottery draw was conducted on Saturday, October 29th, 2022 and had a jackpot of an impressive $825 million that had a cash option of $383.7 million.

Jackpot climbs

The winning numbers that were drawn in the Powerball lottery on Saturday night were 19, 31, 40, 46 and 57, with 23 being the Powerball number and 2X as the Power Play.

Unfortunately, no one was able to match the numbers correctly, which means that the big jackpot went unclaimed and it will now roll over and reach 10 figures in the next drawing.

The next draw is scheduled to take place on Monday, October 31st, 2022 and this will have a $1 billion jackpot that comes with a cash value of $497.3 million.

This is the second-largest jackpot to be seen in the Powerball lottery in the 30 years that it has been running and it is the fifth-largest jackpot to be seen in the history of the lottery itself.

The largest Powerball jackpot had been $1.586 billion and was paid out in 2016. There were three winners who had won the big prize from Florida, Tennessee and California, respectively.

Other prizes

Even though there were no winners for the grand prize in Saturday night’s Powerball lottery draw, there were other players who did snag smaller monetary prizes in the draw.

There were a total of six players who were able to hit the Match 5 and this allowed them to win a prize of $1 million. These ticket-holders belonged to Michigan, Maryland, Texas and California.

There was also one player who not only hit the Match 5, but also opted for the Power Play purchase with their ticket, which meant that their winnings doubled to $2 million.

The ticket-holder was from Florida. To win the jackpot, players have to match the five numbers as well as the Powerball number.

While matching the five numbers gives a prize of $1 million, matching the Powerball number only earns a prize of $4.

Still, it is higher than the cost of the Powerball lottery ticket, which is $2.

More details

The jackpot has not been claimed since August 3rd, which means that there have not been a grand prize winner in the Powerball lottery for its last 37 draws.

The jackpot claimed back in August was about $206.9 million that had been won by a player in Pennsylvania.

The Powerball lottery jackpot begins at $40 million and continues to roll over and get bigger if there is no winner in a drawing.

The drawings of the Powerball lottery are held on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday every week in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
