Powerball Jackpot Now Reaches $610 Million

No winners for the jackpot

The numbers that were drawn in Saturday night’s Powerball lottery were 19, 25, 48, 55 and 60, with 18 being the Powerball number and the Power Play was 2X.

Unfortunately, there were no players who were able to match the numbers needed for winning the big jackpot, so it is now going to roll over to the upcoming draw.

The next Powerball lottery draw is now scheduled to take place on Monday, October 24th and the jackpot has swelled to $610 million that will also have a cash option of $292.6 million.

This makes it the eight-largest jackpot to have been recorded in the 30 year history of the Powerball lottery.

Instant millionaires

While there may not be have been any winners for the grand prize in the Powerball lottery draw on Saturday night, there were some players who became instant millionaires.

A total of three players managed to hit the Match 5, which helped them land prizes of $1 million each on Saturday night. They belonged to South Carolina, Texas and New York.

Had they opted for the Power Play option, they would have seen their winnings double to $2 million.

Smaller prizes

There were plenty of smaller prizes that were also paid out in the Powerball lottery drawing on Saturday. There were 36 players who managed to hit the Match 4 and the Power Play.

This allowed them to bag a prize of $50,000 each. There were also six lucky players who hit the Match 4, the Powerball and also opted for the Power Play, so their prizes doubled from $50,000 to $100,000 each.

Jackpot increasing

The jackpot in the Powerball lottery starts at $40 million and will continue to roll over until a draw produces a winner.

The Powerball draw on Monday would be the thirty-fifth draw and there has not been a winner for the grand prize since August 3rd this year.

There have been a total of five jackpot winners in this year in the Powerball lottery so far. In order to land the big prize, players have to match the five numbers as well as the Powerball number.

The largest jackpot in the Powerball lottery was paid out back in 2016 when winners in Florida, California and Tennessee had split the $1.586 billion prize.

Winners have the option of claiming the prize as a lump sum, or they can get it as an annuity, which involves one upfront payments and then 29 payments annually, each increasing by 5%.

The Powerball lottery draw is held every week three times, on Monday, Wednesday and then Saturday.
