Lucky UK Ticket Holder Comes Forward to Claim £171M EuroMillions Jackpot

The EuroMillions lottery draw conducted on Friday, September 23rd had a jackpot of a massive £171 million and a lucky ticketholder has come forward to claim this prize.

The winning numbers in Friday night’s EuroMillions lottery draw were 14, 15, 22, 35 and 48 with 03 and 08 being the Lucky Star numbers.

Winner comes forward

Lottery operator Camelot announced that a single ticketholder from the United Kingdom has staked a claim for the EuroMillions lottery draw worth £171,815,297.80 on Friday night.

This enormous prize is the third largest win in the National Lottery and this means that the winner is instantly richer than Adele, who is worth approximately £150 million, and Harry Styles, who is worth £100 million.

The National Lottery’s senior winner adviser, Andy Carter said that the year had been an amazing one for EuroMillions players from the United Kingdom.

He said that they were glad to have received a claim for the third biggest win in the EuroMillions lottery and would support the lucky winner through the claims process to help them enjoy their life-changing win.

The ticket will now have to be validated after which the jackpot will be paid out. It will then be up to the winner to decide if they want to stay anonymous, or they wish to go public with their win.

Big wins

This jackpot win is now the sixth jackpot to be won in the EuroMillions lottery this year in the United Kingdom.

The biggest EuroMillions jackpot win in the lottery’s history was worth £195 million that had happened in the draw conducted on July 19th.

The winner had come forward the next day to claim their prize, but they had chosen to stay anonymous.

This particular jackpot had broken the previous record, which incidentally had also been established this year in the draw conducted on May 10.

That prize had been worth £184 million and a couple from Gloucestershire, Joe and Jess Thwaite, had been the lucky winners.

Other details

On September 2nd, there had been another EuroMillions’ jackpot win worth £110 million, while a £109 million jackpot was paid out in the draw on February 4th.

Likewise, the EuroMillions draw on June 10th had a jackpot worth £54 million that a UK ticket holder had claimed. All three of these winners had opted to stay anonymous.

There have only been 16 players from the United Kingdom who have ever won a jackpot of more than £100 million in the EuroMillions lottery.

No information will be disclosed about the current winner, should they choose to remain anonymous. This means that Camelot cannot disclose whether it is an individual, or a syndicate, or where they bought their ticket.

The EuroMillions draws are conducted every week, on Tuesday and Friday and it can be played in nine countries in Europe.
