According to officials, the lucky Mega Millions player from Illinois who had won the massive $1.3 billion jackpot a few weeks ago has still not come forward to claim their prize and remains a mystery.

Statistics show that the jackpot is the third largest lottery prize to be given out in the US lottery. The drawing had taken place on Friday, July 29th.
The winning numbers for the draw had been 13, 36, 45, 57 and 67, while 14 was the Mega Ball. 2X was the Megaplier.
The jackpot had been growing since March, as there had been no jackpot winner for the 29 straight draws of the Mega Millions lottery.
However, the prize had only entered the billion-dollar category on Tuesday, July 26th.
The prize
The Mega Millions lottery has said that if the lucky winner decides to go with the annuity option, they will be able to get approximately $1.28 billion.
This will be paid out to them every year for a total of 29 years. But, if they decide to go with the cash option, which most jackpot winners favor, they will receive an estimated $742 million.
So far, there have been four jackpots won in the Mega Millions lottery this year. The first was won on January 28th, March 8th was the second and the third and fourth were won on April 12th and 15th, respectively.
This record-setting prize is just a little below the largest jackpot ever paid out in the Mega Millions lottery of $1.537 billion.
This had been won in October 2018 in South Carolina. The Mega Millions lottery draws take place every Tuesday and Friday and in 45 states of the United States.
