A group of street cleaners managed to win a massive Irish Lotto jackpot, which is completely going to change their lives.
Syndicate win
A bunch of street cleaners for the Galway City Council had come together to form the Magnificent Ten Syndicate almost two decades ago.
The syndicate has now managed to win a whopping €5,541,001 in the Irish Lotto draw at the beginning of the month.
All numbers that had been chosen for the draw had been individual to every member of the syndicate. The large syndicate has managed to win the 7th lotto jackpot in Ireland this year.
The winning ticket was sold on July 31st, Sunday at the Galway Shopping Center located on Headford Road in Newspoint newsagent.
However, there was no winner for the Irish lotto jackpot in Saturday night’s draw, which means that the jackpot has now rolled over to €3 million.
Furthermore, a Kildare winner also came forward to collect their prize of €500,000 that they had won in the EuroMillions Plus draw conducted on August 9th, Tuesday.
The winner opted to stay anonymous and said that he had decided to buy his mother a EuroMillions plus ticket for her birthday and had bought one for himself as well.
He said that he could not believe he had won and his mother was also pleased to learn the news. He said that it had come at a great time, as he was thinking of buying his first home.
The syndicate’s reaction
A member of the syndicate said that they had had to keep going for two decades before they managed to win.
They said that at one point, the members had discussed changing the numbers, but had decided against doing so.
The member revealed that one of the others had said last Christmas that they were going to quit the syndicate, but had been persuaded to continue.
They were told that it was just a newspaper and a piece of a pint and it was a good thing they decided to stay because their winning numbers finally popped up in the draw on August 3rd.
Another syndicate member said that everyone was saying they had ‘cleaned up’, but it is something they do every day.
They said that they make sure that the parks and streets in Galway city are clean and they are proud of their city and now they can ride off into the sunset with their winnings.
