The winner of the EuroMillions Plus jackpot on Friday came to the Lotto headquarters for claiming their prize and said that it didn’t feel real to have won.

The EuroMillions Plus lottery draw had been conducted on Friday, January 13th, 2023 and the Cavan player had managed to land the jackpot worth €500,000.

The winning ticket was bought in Cootehill at McMullan’s Daybreak on the day of the lottery draw.

The reaction

The lucky punter came to the National Lottery winners’ room for claiming their impressive €500,000 EuroMillions prize.

After doing so, the overjoyed player from Cavan talked about how they had been coping with the news of winning the life-changing prize in Friday night’s EuroMillions drawing.

They said that it did not feel real because when they checked their lottery ticket, they had not been prepared to find that they had landed such a huge prize.

The winner said that they had been extremely nervous since they found out that they had won such a massive prize.

According to the player, their first instinct had been to go straight to the Lotto offices in Dublin for handing over the small piece of paper that was worth €500,000.

They said that it had felt wonderful and strange at the same time.

The plans

The winner also elaborated that they did not plan on deciding immediately about what they were going to do with half a million euros.

The first few things on their list included paying a few bills, paying off their mortgage and then looking into helping their family.

The lotto player said that they would look after everyone and would assist the kids with house deposits and other things.

The Cavan winner also said that since the weather was cold, it was also a good time to consider taking a vacation to somewhere sunny.

They said that they would make a booking somewhere in the next few weeks and think about what they intend to do after some of the excitement and fuss dies down.

Other winners

There was another player from Dublin who had also come forward for claiming their prize on the same day, which they had won back on New Year’s Eve in the Millionaire Raffle draw.

The Dubliner had landed a win of €100,000 after purchasing the ticket in question at Dunnes Store in Tallaght, Dublin 24.

There was also one more winner from Dublin who had won online. They had used the National Lottery App to play the Instant Win game called ‘Cash Showdown’.

This allowed them to win a prize of €50,000 and they also came in to get their check.
