The hunt is still ongoing for the lucky winner of the Lotto Plus One draw of the Irish Lotto on Saturday evening, who was able to bag the €1 million.

While the winner may not have come forward as yet, the location where they purchased their ticket has been disclosed.

Bought in Louth

On Tuesday, National Lottery bigwigs confirmed that the winning ticket was bought in Louth. It had been purchased at Sloane’s newagents, which is located in Dundalk on Avenue Road.

Not only will the prize change the life of the lucky ticketholder, but it has also made them the 28th millionaire in Ireland in 2022 through the Lotto.

The community shop had first been opened 55 years ago in Dundalk by Anne and Peter Sloan, which is quite popular.

Today, their children support them and all of them work in the family business. The children include Paul, Peter, Mary and Margaret.

One of their daughters, Margaret, heard that one of their customers had become a millionaire overnight as they bought the ticket from their store.

The reaction

She had been overjoyed at the news and said that it was a dream come true for the entire family and for the store.

She added that they were extremely excited to have sold the winning ticket and it felt as if they had won the prize themselves.

She added that theirs was a community store and they know all the customers that come through the door.

Margaret said that the community was fantastic and they were thrilled to find that one of the families was richer by €1 million.

They were glad to have played a part in such a life-changing win. But, the winner has not yet come forward to claim their €1 million prize as yet.

The National Lottery has urged all players from Co. Louth to check their respective tickets and to sign the back if they are the winner.
