The Powerball Lottery draw was conducted on Saturday, September 24th and it had an impressive jackpot of $274.8 million, which came with a cash option of $145.8 million.
No winner for the jackpot
The winning numbers that were drawn in the Powerball lottery on Saturday night were 03, 09, 21, 24 and 29. 14 was the Powerball number and 2X was the Power Play.
Unfortunately, there was no winner for the jackpot on Saturday night, which means that the prize will now roll over to the next draw, which is scheduled to take place on Monday, September 27th.
The jackpot amount for the draw on Monday night will be a whopping $285 million and this will come with a cash value of $151.2 million.
While there may not have been any grand prize winners in Saturday night’s Powerball draw, there were other winners who did land prizes.
A total of seven players were able to become instant millionaires after they managed to hit the Match 5 in the draw and this allowed them to win $1 million each.
These players included two players from California, one from New Jersey, one from Michigan, one from Louisiana and one from Indiana.
There was another player from Louisiana who had also hit the Match 5, but had also chosen to go with the Power Play option, which allowed them to double their winnings to $2 million.
Apart from making several millionaires, the draw also saw some smaller prizes given out. A total of 28 players were able to hit the Match 4 and the Powerball number, which brought their winnings to $50,000 each.
Furthermore, there were also 10 players who hit the Match 4 and the Powerball number and had also opted for the Power Play option.
This allowed them to double their winnings to $100,000 each. The rest of the prizes on Saturday night were between the range of $4 and $200.
The drawing on Saturday night saw a total of 615,087 players of the Powerball lottery win prizes.
This latest draw comes after a Powerball player from Missouri discovered a winning ticket from her purse worth $50,000 after a month.
The ticket had been bought at a Walmart located in Manchester for the draw conducted on July 16th and she had put it in her purse.
She had quickly forgotten about the ticket and found it when she went to check a different ticket for the Powerball lottery. The lucky winner is now planning to use her prize to pay off her student debt.
Powerball lottery draws are conducted every week, on Monday, Wednesday and then Saturday and players have to match all six numbers drawn in order to land the jackpot.
