An Irish EuroMillions lottery player came very close to winning the life-changing jackpot in the draw on Tuesday, 23rd August, 2022.
Just short of the jackpot
While there was no lottery player on the continent who was able to match all five numbers that were drawn on Tuesday night, along with the two lucky stars, there were other winners on the night.
The jackpot worth €87,739,479 was not claimed on Tuesday night, which means it will roll over for the next draw on Friday.
The jackpot for the EuroMillions draw on Friday, August 26th will be a whopping €100 million. There was one player hailing from the West of Ireland who fell just short of winning the jackpot.
This punter was able to match the first five numbers that were drawn, but could not land the top prize because he did not match the two lucky stars.
Therefore, the lucky player will have to comfort themselves with a win of an impressive €152,670, thanks to the first five numbers.
According to lotto bosses, the winning ticket for the EuroMillions draw was bought in Mayo. The numbers for Tuesday night were 19, 26, 31, 39 and 48 and 2 and 3 were the lucky stars.
The numbers for the EuroMillions Plus draw were 17, 27, 30, 34 and 41. A total of 43,000 lottery players from Ireland were able to win prizes in the drawings conducted on Tuesday night.
Not only will the EuroMillions draw on Friday night have the jackpot of €100 million, but there will be another millionaire guaranteed for Ireland on the same night.
This is thanks to the special Ireland-only raffle that will also take place on Friday evening. These raffles have been conducted previously as well and have helped three EuroMillions player in becoming millionaires.
The first millionaire was crowned on August 5th who had the raffle code I – NBF – 65003, who was from Sligo, while the second millionaire was crowned a week later and was from Tipperary.
Last Friday, the raffle code I – NCR – 41927 helped a EuroMillions player from Galwegian scoop the €1 million prize to change their life.
