The Powerball Lottery draw was held on Monday, February 6th, 2023 and had a massive jackpot of $754.6 million that had a cash option of $407.2 million.
The prize had continued to grow for about 34 consecutive drawings in a row, as there had been no winner.
The winning numbers that were drawn in the Powerball lottery drawing on Monday night were 05, 11, 22, 23 and 69, with 07 being the Powerball number and 2X was the Power Play.
A single-ticket holder from Washington was able to match all the six numbers required for winning the jackpot, which makes it the first Powerball lottery win for 2023.
The winner has the option of getting the prize in the form of a lump sum in which they will receive the cash value of the jackpot, or they could opt for an annuity.
The latter means that they would get one payment right away and will then receive 29 annual payments that will increase each year by 5%.
It should be noted that the latest Powerball lottery win is the fifth-largest jackpot to have been won in the history of the game.
The last time the Powerball jackpot had been won was on November 19th, 2022, as a ticketholder from Kansas had walked away with a grand prize of $92.9 million.
The next Powerball lottery drawing is now scheduled to take place on Wednesday, February 8th and since the jackpot has been won, the jackpot will now reset at $20 million, which will have a cash value of $10.8 million.
Not only was there a jackpot winner in the Powerball lottery drawing on Monday night, but there were also other players who managed to land prizes in the draw from all over the country.
There were a total of six players who hit the Match 5 and were able to become instant millionaires, as they won a prize of $1 million each.
Two of these winners were from Michigan, while three of them hailed from New York and there was also one in Texas.
However, the Texas winner was able to double their $1 million prize to $2 million because they had also opted for the Power Play option with their ticket.
Apart from that, there were a total of 58 players who were able to hit the Match 4 and the red Powerball number, which allowed them to win $50,000 each.
But, there were also 16 players who hit the Match 4 and the Powerball number and also bought the Power Play option, so they doubled their prizes from $50,000 to $100,000 each.
