Mega Millions Jackpot for Tuesday’s Drawing Grows

The draw on Friday night of the Mega Millions lottery had a jackpot worth $360 million. However, there were no winners for the prize, which will now roll over and grow for the next drawing of the lottery. While no one claimed the jackpot, there were three other players who became instant millionaires, thanks to the draw.

The winning numbers for the Mega Millions draw on July 1st, Friday, were 1, 27, 29, 38 and 62 with 12 being the Mega Ball. There was also a 3X Megaplier.

Winners in the draw

The Friday drawing of the Mega Millions lottery saw three players from Pennsylvania, Georgia and Arkansas walk away with a prize of $1 million each, as they managed to match five numbers in the draw. Had they also purchased the ticket with the Megaplier, they would have been able to get $3 million.

Other than the instant millionaires, some small monetary prizes were also won in the draw. 22 people managed to match 4 numbers, along with gold Mega Ball that let them claim $10,000 each in the latest drawing.

There were also five people who won $30,000 each because they matched the four numbers, the Mega Ball and had also opted for the Megaplier. The other prizes for the night were between $2 and $1,500.

Jackpot rolls over

As there were no winners for the grand prize of $360 million on Friday night that had a cash option of $207.6 million, it will now rollover. The jackpot for the next Mega Millions drawing scheduled for July 5th, Tuesday will be worth $317 million and it will have a cash value of $213.3 million.

The last time the Mega Millions jackpot had been claimed was on April 15th, when a lottery player from Tennessee successfully matched the five main numbers and the Mega Ball. Since then, there has been no jackpot winner, so the prize has grown. Winners have the option of getting the cash value, or going with annuity, which means they receive an immediate payment and then 29 yearly payments that rise by 5% a year.
